Texas Swoopers will not hold "ground meets" due to competitor safety issues. That means that we will only hold meets over a body of water. So far, for the 2010 season the only dropzones that have an available body of water and the ability to host a swoop meet are Skydive Houston and Skydive Spaceland. If your dropzone has the ability to host a swoop meet over a body of water and would like to host Texas Swoopers, please contact me. As training camps are scheduled in between the meets, information will be found here and in the Texas Swoopers Forums (Community tab). As meets are completed, results will be linked and posted here.
Schedule 1-2 May Texas Swoopers #1 SD Houston 2010 USPA National Skydiving Championships of Canopy Piloting Meet information The registration fee for the competition is $45. If you have previously earned a "pro" card or competed at a national level event as an open class competitor, then you will be allowed to compete, but on the 5ft gates. All others are able to register to compete on the 10ft gates. Unless otherwise noted prior to the event, there are 3 competition courses that will be run: Distance, Speed and Zone Accuracy. IPC competition rules will be used as well as the IPC rules for exit weight (and allowed extra weight). Further information is available in the Rules tab.
